About Emma
I am based in Epsom, Surrey and have also lived and worked in Bristol, Exeter, London and Paris. After graduating in modern languages from Exeter University in 1999, I worked in various in-house press office and PR roles in the logistics, heritage and charity sectors in the UK and France. I also obtained my CIPR Diploma in Public Relations.
In 2007, I started my freelance copywriting and editing business, shortly after the birth of my eldest son.
Then, in 2023, I gained my Level 3 Diploma in Photography qualification from the University of the Arts, London and added photography to my list of freelance services. You can visit my photography site here.
I have built up more than two decades of writing experience. This has included in-house and freelance copywriting, editing and proofreading digital and printed materials across many different sectors. As a result, my experience of working in-house has given me an excellent understanding of how to work within set branding and guidelines. I know how to get the message across using a consistent, professional tone of voice. My work with agencies and as a freelance copywriter for my own clients has taught me how to be versatile, responsive and highly creative with the written word.
